The Wabash Valley Amateur Radio Association has been serving the amateur radio community in
Terre Haute and the surrounding area since 1927.

This website provides resources for both the club membership and for all Wabash Valley amateur radio operators.

Announcements
Ray Andrews K9DUR, Silent Key The WVARA is sad to announce that our Webmaster and Treasurer, Ray Andrews K9DUR, has become a silent key. Ray passed on Saturday morning, December 6, 2025 while under the care of Hospice. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. Arrangements are pending.
WVARA Executive Board Meeting	The WVARA Executive Board meets once per month. The meetings are either at the Salvation Army, 234 S 8th St, Terre Haute, IN, or online via Zoom. Normally, meetings are held on the Thursday following the monthly WVARA meeting at 7:00 p.pm EST/EDT. Any WVARA member is welcome to attend Board meetings.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, December 11th, at 7:00 pm EDT. This meeting will be via Zoom only. There will be no in-person meeting. The Zoom meeting ID is:  931 4165 4422   (https://zoom.us/j/93141654422)
Salvation Army Bell Ringing	The WVARA will be bell ringing for the Salvation Army this Christmas season. When: Saturday, December 20th from 9am to 7pm EST Where: Baesler's Market 2900 Poplar St Terre Haute, IN Contact Kevin Berlen, K9HX, to schedule your time to ring.
WVARA Technical Session	NOTE: There will be no Technical Session in December - see you in January! From 9 a.m. to 12 noon (EST/EDT) on the 3rd Saturday of each month, the WVARA holds a Technical Session where members can bring projects to work on, discuss technical issues with Elmers, or otherwise advance their thechnical skills. The sessions are held at the Salvation Army which is located at 234 S. 8th St in Terre Haute. (Map & Driving Directions) For more information, or to suggest a topic for discussion, contact Jay Sotak, AB9CG.
WVARA HF Net	The WVARA holds a weekly net every Saturday evening on 3.679 MHz (+/-10kHz) LSB at 9:00 pm Indiana time (8pm Illinois time). This is an informal net with the purpose of encouraging WVARA members to get on the air and just ragchew. All Extra-class amateurs are welcome whether WVARA members or not. Amateurs holding other classes of licenses are encouraged to listen in as an incentive to upgrade.
