Illinois QSO Party
|
|
The Illinois QSO Party (ILQP) is held each year on the Sunday of the 3rd full weekend in October. It
is sponsored by the Western Illinois Amateur Radio Club.
The goal of the contest is to contact as many Illinois counties as possible in an 8-hour period.
|
Many participants set up portable stations on
the intersection of 2, 3, or 4 county lines
so that each contact counts a 2, 3, or 4 contacts, one for each county.
Other participants operate mobile in order to activate as many counties as possible.
The WVARA encourages its members to participate in this contest,
either as a fixed, portable, or mobile station operating in Illinois, or as an out-of-state participant,
