You can help the WVARA reduce expenses. Each month
the Bandspread is published electronically in PDF format. As soon as the
electronic version is available, an email is sent notifying each
recipient that it is available. If you have the capability to view
and/or print the Bandspread in this format, you can save the WVARA the
costs of mailing the printed copy. If you are interested in changing to
the electronic version, please email the club Secretary, Bette
KC9GWT.
February 5, 2010 Meeting
- This month's program is the Annual Check Your Rig Night. Bring in your amateur radio equipment (HF, VHF, etc) in and our experts with their commercial tools will check them out to make sure they are operating correctly. We will also handle the 2010 Budget.
IRC Announces Testing Schedule
Yep, the ILLIANA RADIO CLUB will be having an exam session on the second Thursday of every month. We're using the
ARRL VEC so the test fees are the same. Right now that's $15.00.
Our exams are held at Ryves Youth Center at Etling Hall at 7:00 PM. Enter the main entrance of the center, cross the gym to the
elevator and go to the basement. We are at the end of the hall opposite the elevator. Please bring a photo id and social security
number if you don't have a license. If you do have a license we also need to see the original of it and we need a copy to mail in.
We also need to see the originals of any CSCE's and need a copy of those to mail in too.
I am the contact person and VE team liaison. Walk-ins are allowed but I would appreciate knowing who's coming. You can
reach me at (812) 238-0584 or veteam@illianaradioclub.org
Thanks,
Jim, WD9EY

WVARA Forced to a New
Address
The U.S. Postal service is closing the Cherry
St. facility in Terre Haute, and with that closing came notice that P.O.
Box 81 will no longer exist. Keeping the current address was not an
option available to the WVARA. Indiana State University will be taking
over the building in early January. While ISU will maintain some of the
P.O. Boxes in the facility, they are all receiving new box numbers as
part of that transition. The new address for the WVARA will be…
P.O. Box 10081, Terre Haute, IN 47801
Mail will be forwarded
from the old address to the new address for a period of time. However,
please begin to use the new address immediately for any mail to the
WVARA.

Club Meeting
Location!
Starting with the May 2008 meeting, the
location will be in a building located at 1715 South 8th Street Terre Haute, IN. This is
the old Idaho Station Post Office building. Park in the fenced-in lot
immediately north of the building. Talk-in will be on the K9IKQ
repeater.
